We offer Western Trail Pleasure Class. This course is designed to be a review of safety, equitation and horsemanship for novice to intermediate riders. Students will be placed into this course based on testing prior to the first day of class. Students in the course must minimally be able to tack up and warm up their own horse; mount and dismount; ride simple figures at the walk, trot and canter; and cool out and untack their own horse.
The main focus of this course will be on safety, equitation (rider’s position) and use of the rider’s aids on the trail in an areana. Students will learn the principles and practices behind mounted trail arena work for the competive trail and judge trail riding; the use of simple and advanced figures while riding for balance between horses and riders;
maintaining control and collectivness on basic arena trails patterns, while enjoying the fun and challlenge of the ride.
These classes are run in 2hr. blocks at 25.00 dollars an hour.
